Joe Brady (00:00:00) - :: Alright thank you, for those of you that don’t know my name is Joe Brady; I am the president of NDIA, whose helping sponsor this forum today. What we are trying to do, I just became the president within the last year, and those of you who do not know, a little bit of my background, I was the director of small business here are CECOM. And we’re trying to use this organization as a platform for us, small businesses in the community. With that being said, we always get a number of a large businesses that support us in these activities so we do appreciate that.

Moment of Silence (00:00:54) - :: This has also been, this particular forum is with the CERDEC which is a research and development center and Drexel University who is supporting this. Before we started, I’ll give you a little bit of the agenda. But if we can have a moment of silence now for our soldiers, we’d appreciate that.

Agenda (00:01:14) - :: Thank you, we appreciate all their efforts. Let me give you a little bit of the agenda today. We have 3 guest speakers this morning. From there we have about 40 exhibitors in the next room. Please go over and support them, there’s a lot of different technology being focused over there. We also have a, the mission operations center from Monmouth University which is outside in the parking lot. It’s very impressive. There is also a certain project that they are working with Monmouth University. We have this, the ace in project itself is a combined project with Drexel University and we have a lot of technology over there. And I think we have 35 or 40 incubator companies exhibiting extras. So please take the time to go, talk to folks and hopefully win some business connections out of that.

The story of Danny (00:02:00) - :: Before I introduce the first speaker though, a lot of people have asked me if I would, you know, what is happening to Danny, my… some people think Danny who is my Godson and my nephew is my alter ego. But that’s not true he is not a myth, and I do have another story I about Danny, through the years, I’ve been telling Danny stories probably about a decade. And Danny has kind of grown up in this community, he, that the person he meet General Brown, General Mavers, [inaudible 00:02:34], General Ross, and through the years he’s been interesting cause he’s a Philly kid, talks like a New Yorker. And through that, we used to do stories about that and as he’s grown up, his biggest thing as growing up he wanted to be a General and how to be at least a 2 star. So through the years now he’s grown up, he’s 13 years old and is interesting because as different positions I’ve had throughout my career here, he’s got to meet some pretty high level folks and its been real interesting but lately he feels connected to Congressman Rob Andrews since he’s a part of, he’s our spiritual leader for this project. And for those of you who don’t know, he is running for a senator in New Jersey, but Danny has been seeing a lot of him in local stations in Philadelphia and some of his advertisements and stuff. But about 2 weeks ago he came to me and I said, you know we’re doing this outing here at Philly World of ACIN. He’s pretty familiar with the program as we progress and told them what we’re doing and stuff. And were actually having a golf outing on a Monday and you know that potentially could be an opportunity for you to carry, or something like that. And you know, getting that idea between a math test, and being to carting in golf outing and missing a day of school. I kind of was leaning towards that way but I didn’t hear from him. So I heard from him one Saturday, he called me up and the he said you know, how you doing Uncle Joe, and how’s the golf thing going on, pretty good, he said, well is the 2 star general golfing? I said I don’t think so, and he goes, ok. Is Doctor Blythe from Drexel golfing? I said I doubt it very much. Is [Inaudible 00:04:19], ok and he goes, is congressman Andrews golfing? I said probably not. And I said, but you know you can still come and its still gonna be a great day. And he goes, I’d rather do a test, I’ve seen you golfed. And with my 3 partners that golf with me, he said he won’t do as that, so without further adieu, our director for the entire CERDEC research and development center, Mr. Gary Bill.

Welcome to the world of ACIN (00:04:53) - :: Well good morning, and boy what a turnout. Good to see you all today, welcome to the World of ACIN. I guess I’ve know a little bit of ACIN since we started back in 2001. But first, what ACIN stands for is Applied Communication, Information Networking. And back in the beginning, if you don’t know, there is actually 3 focuses of ACIN.

Three focuses of ACIN (00:05:15) - :: And back in the beginning, if you don’t know, there is actually 3 focuses of ACIN. There was the technology development, research development. There was the incubator. And there was actually a training piece of the program that we were looking at how to retrain military commanders who may not be not be, communication network savvy about networking.

Thanks to Congressman Andrews (00:05:42) - :: First to thank is Congressman Andrews who’s not here for getting us of the ground in 2001. I don’t know that any of us knew that we would be here in 2008, still with this program when we got started. I don’t know if there are techs [inaudible 00:05:57] in the audience so meplace, I don’t know if tech knew that this was gonna continue out.

Reasons for success (00:06:02) - :: But I think that one of the reason we have then, that we took 2 of those focus areas, the research of all the new communications technologies that has warfighter capabilities, and the small business incubator, and we focus those overtime. When we focus on drones at the same time we talk about RND, and we talk about communications. We really broaden that to include the bigger network. And I’ll talk a little about the bigger network and how that improves applications, and really the realm of C4ISR. But as we broaden that, what we did is we focused on transition. We focused on integrating it into the regular programs of the CEREDEC, so it wasn’t just an ad, it wasn’t just a program that did some things on the side. And if they worked out great, if not, that’s why on 2. But we started to integrate those programs into the mainstream of the CERDEC efforts. And as a result, you’ll see that CERDEC now is investing technologies into the program no because we want to make a congressman happy or we want to make the director of CERDEC happy, but because there’s value added for doing so.

Seeing value (00:07:14) - :: So you now see in the ACIN from wireless communications software development, sensor networks [inaudible 00:07:21]; command and control and a whole lot more. And as we started getting more of that focus and we started seeing more value out of the products that were coming out of the, well guess what, other government agencies, other businesses, bigger businesses are seeing the value as well. And we started seeing investments from Navy, I think Department of Energy has invested, and again, those folks don’t come to ACIN and then invest because they want to make someone else happy, it’s because they see the value of doing the work.

The ACIN incubator (00:07:59) - :: The incubator is the other piece. That when we first started, and the first went down, and the ACIN incubator was in the L3 facility and we thank L3 for posting us for a number of years, and it was a big room with a lot of desks. Now we’ve expanded and have a lot more square footage, and is a big room with a lot of people, and some desks to support those folks. And you see companies who have graduated from the incubator and these companies are doing extraordinarily well. And really helpfully you’re not here today to hear the speaker speak, but to go next door and to talk with those companies.

Changing definitions (00:08:49) - :: What I would to talk about for the moment is the networks. So ACIN started of as a communications focused area and we were really was in the space dress with communications directorate. And it pretty much stayed there. But the army’s definition of network has been changing overtime. What is the network? Is it the transport? Is that all it is? Is it the routers and the radios, the antennas, the satellite communications equipment? What is the network? I’ll have any one of you seeing there is a future combat systems chart. They call the platter chart. There are 5 plates, and of course you can’t, this is not a bad thing that I don’t have it here because you couldn’t read it anyway. But the message is pretty clear. What is this network, and what do we need to know what to do to support the future army? And this chart and the concepts behind it have more to do with the army than just FCS. Its starts of with the bottom layer of standards. What are the right standards for us to pick? They lay us the foundation of how these network will be built. And when we’re talking about this network, I’m trying to focus a little bit more on the tactical network. But we have to retire that back in to the global information grid. How do we make this network? How do we pick the right standards? The minimum number of standards that allow us to develop open solutions as much as possible, so as we, within our lair has the foundation for what we do and what the rest of the network is.

Transport layer (00:10:27) - :: The next layer up is the layer that probably most of us are more familiar with because it’s the transport layer. And here were talking about the mobile ad hoc network and we have a lot of adjectives to talk about what this layer is. Mobile ad hoc, dynamic, ubiquitous, I hate that word ubiquitous, what does ubiquitous mean? It’s always there. Well that’s the expectation. It’s always there, and it’s always there when we take the network some place where there is no infrastructure. Now if there’s an infrastructure, you’re still not going to use it because you don’t control that infrastructure. You go into different terrains, different weather conditions; mountains, desert, flat, rolling hills, trees, tree canopy, jungle, we need that network to use our expression to be ubiquitous. nd one like your broadband network at home, or in the office, we have streaming videos and you have all this support out there. That’s certainly a challenge. Especially in the environment that we have we’re spectrum restrained. So, working on the spectrum issues, a certain account it’s that we go for forward here, and meeting up to the expectations. One thing I worry about is we have all kinds of systems that were in the process, the programs are record to meet some of these demands. Warfighing information that was tactical from a tactical radio system. My concern is even all those system meet every spec, is the expectation still gonna be met? The expectations are high. And the kind of the environment we’re trying to build to is challenging. Transport is extremely worrisome here. And then we need to have security on top of that information reference. The more we rely on all these layers, the more it hurts when they’re not there. I’d like to tell folks, we rely on GPS. I bought my wife a GPS unit, like most of the gifts I buy her especially it was electronic; I end up using it more than she does. And I take it on traveling with not even looking at maps and towns like when I’m traveling anymore. I just hope I can find my way there. Well one day I didn’t have it with me and there was a detour, I was just doing across New Jersey, route 70 closed because of some flooding. I called home to my son; I said son get the map out. I don’t have a map with me, what’s the best way for me to get across the state? I don’t necessarily want to drive all the way up to 195. Is there another back way? After 20 minutes and he couldn’t find 70, I said fine, ill go up to 195 and get there. There’s a reliance that we have on these capabilities. What do you do when you’re network’s down? Oh my God, I got to pick up the phone and call somebody. We rely on these technologies. The more we’re used to them, the more we count on them, the more we have to make sure that these capabilities will provide the soldier, who is in the roughest of conditions, that that capability is there when he or she needs it.

Service layer (00:13:28) - :: Above that transport layer is the service layer. And we’re gonna build that on a common operating environment. And we’re gonna set that taking advantage of web services. This requires us to work very closely with DISA, the other services, all those services, those rep services don’t have to come from the army in our programs. Some may be tactically based, some may be enterprise based. Challenging work, challenging work that the command and control directly hears is leading the way on looking on how to move forward on this, and work that is part of the network. The network is not just that transport layer, above that, the application layer.

Application layer (00:14:06) - :: We typically think about is command and control, and you turn being battle command. What is battle command? Battle command is a lot more than it used to be. It’s more than just red and blue icon that’s on the screen, it’s in integrating all the ISR data, fusing that data, taking data from sensors that were meant at one time for one purpose, and using that data to extrapolate information for other purposes as well. Logistics, sustainment, training, all part of that application layer that we need to work on this network that’s on the move that is not ubiquitous, even though that’s the exploitation. That’s gonna be in and out because you’re gonna go into a tunnel, you’re gonna be going behind the trees, you’re gonna have challenges on the battlefield, we need those applications to work on that environment and we need to make applications work and give the user what the user needs.

Sensor layer (00:15:07) - :: Above that application layer and finally here is the sensor layer. We have a lot of sensors. Some may say we even have more sensors that we need it sometimes. A lot of these sensors are both for single purposes. We’re now learning to use those sensors for multiple purposes and how to fuse that data. And make it part of the network. That really is the challenge here of taking these sensors, is how we make that part of the network that are tied to this network and make it work. But there are a lot of decisions to be made. Where do you do the fusion of that data? And when you do the fusion of that data, how as far as we can effects? As far as the load that we’re required in able to carry, where that load has to be and how is it really gonna perform. It’s really not, we talk, I like to about the network a lot because it’s something that I’ve grown up with. I sometimes focus a little bit more on the transport layer. Which of course I think is very important. But its not about the transport layer, it’s really about getting that information to the user and release it when they need it. It’s really about information and knowledge, and all those other technologies are enabling us for that to happen.

ACIN Program across the spectrum (00:16:26) - :: So ACIN has a program, has expanded for not just looking at some of the transport level things but across the whole spectrum. From software, how do we do software, how do we do software role in the application, visualization of this information. The technology that of ACIN are relevant, and are relevant today and it would be relevant for the future. And as we look at these technologies, there’s a lot of other applications support of, security proposed camp and station. Than you start thinking, hmm, how are my security applications? Port applications, navy, other services, other users. And those are the ideas that we need you to think about as we talk to these vendors. Think about what the technology is that they offer and think about new ways to integrate that technology, and new ways to apply it to solve our challenge that we have for the DOD, for the army, homeland security applications, etc.

A relationship that will continue (00:17:29) - :: We had quite a run here with ACIN from 2001, working with Drexel, working very closely and you’re gonna hear from, can hear in a minute, and he’s lost where he sat, but good work relationship, I think what I’ve seen a lot of great things come out Drexel and either of the companies that are now part of incubator. I think this is a relationship that will continue in the future. For both us and the government side to look at new ways to refine this and I want to thank those news reporters that are here today. Because I think you’ll come up with a lot of good ideas and bring them back to us and we will move out on this. So I want to, I thank you for the opportunity goes to speak here today, the audience, thank you for being here. And enjoy the communications in there, because this really is not about. this is about getting in there, having the discussions and coming up with new ideas. Thank you very much.

Introduction (00:18:40) - :: Thanks Gary. Our next speaker is the, kind of the leader for Drexel of this whole entire project. I don’t really know what Dr. Bryant’s title is but he’s unique in himself, he is very unabated for a professor at Drexel University. He had very good, at business development and those, most of the companies out here in helping them look for work and other opportunities. Can go above and beyond what he does for this project and we really appreciate everything he has done for this project. Ladies and Gentleman, Dr. Ken Blank.

The Provost (00:19:25) - :: Ken: [00:19:26] Joe said he didn’t know what my title was and the truth is I don’t know what my title is either. I, it’s called Vice-Provost for research and you know you might equate that with Vice President in many ways but is there anybody in the room who knows what a provost is? What it’s defined as? It’s one of the old terms that’s used as a, it was used for a jailer, somebody, a warden. And sometimes working in a university environment, you can feel like you’re a warden. The faculty tends to be independent contractors. Tenure is a wonderful thing. It creates an environment in which the faculties are free to express their ideas which is absolutely necessary. They can do like what is needed in terms of their research ideas. But sometimes when they disagree with you, you really do have to feel like a jailer and if you don’t know Bill rightly, most of you.

Introducing Bill Regly (00:20:21) - :: Get to know Bill. Bill is a technical leader of the ACIN program for Drexel. Under his guidance, there has been a lot of great technology which has been produced and has been commercialized and that’s one of our hallmarks about Drexel.

How it pertains (00:20:42) - :: I just wanted to say a couple of words about university research on drone, in general at the risk of boring all of you, but how it pertains to the present environment and particularly to our interactions with CERDEC and in the creation of the ACIN program and how it’s benefited, I think both Drexel and CERDEC, and the warfighter of course who is central to all our efforts here have benefited from this particular association Drexel is known as an applied research institution.

Use-inspired research (00:21:11) - :: We now use the term user inspired research, and I’ll explain that in a moment. But basically that’s the difference, you’ve read of Drexel from many other universities. Many universities as you are well aware do research. But very few universities are known for doing applied research. And that is, what are the applications of what we are doing and how those applications are are promoted and are RND funded in order to be able to make the applications come to life and mean something. We adopted the term user-inspired instead of applied because we really wanted to get across the fact that the research that we’re doing, we have a use in mind for that. And how do we get that use in mind? I mean we do many, many basic research concepts that are funded through the traditional sources of the National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Health, which are dedicated organizations to discovering new knowledge and creating new knowledge which is a fundamental thing that the university is setup to do as an academic institution. But you need to go to the next step. You need to be able to develop those new ideas and new concepts into applications and into, to use the technical, engineering term, widgets. And it’s a challenging thing for a university to be able to do it. But Drexel has always prided itself on the fact that we can do that and we have done that. When using a program as an example, well we find the end users, is our partners at CERDEC who has needs to benefit the warfighter, benefit our national security. And we can take our very bright faculties, who have developed these new technologies, and say, ok, you’ve developed these technologies but this is what’s needed. How can your technologies really play a role in terms of creating practical applications through this technology? And then we run it to RND and develop prototypes which most of you universities went to. But this is a very new model for universities. And universities are more and more paying attention to this particular type of model because it is beneficial to everybody. It’s beneficial to society; we need to be out there solving societal problems. Not just publishing papers and putting them on shelves. But actually getting that information into useful enterprises and beginning to solve those problems and playing an act in solving those particular problems. And a large part of that is technology commercialization.

Technology commercialization (00:24:11) - :: And again that goes hand in hand with how they misconception of using aspired research. We really need to be out there commercializing this technology, running it through at technology commercialization after RND and prototype development which all adds value to the technology and then being able to micro fluid way, spinning it out into new young companies which are very active to promote the technology and get it out there and ultimately get it integrated with the systems that are needed in order to be able to make it part of a very active, robust system that’s actually needed by the customer right there.

Understanding grants and contracts (00:24:58) - :: o, Drexel, again just to go back and summarize, use inspired because it’s very important, in order to be able to do use inspired, you need to understand grants and contracts again, from the university perspective, that a new approach, understanding grants and contracts, understanding milestones and deliverables. You see most universities run on grants, if you apply for a grant, you may get a five year grant. If you do the work, you may get it refunded again. If you don’t, if what you proposed doesn’t work out, you can apply for a different grant. Well it doesn’t work in today’s environment, together comes down to grants and contracts. And understanding grants and contracts and having outstanding faculty who understands grants and contracts and milestones and deliverables becomes an integral part of that particular process of what university research is becoming more and more. We need to as a country, in order to be able to maintain our technological superiority and our economic development, in the future of our country, devote more and more of these university resources in this particular direction. Not abandoning the concept of creating new knowledge, that’s ultimately extremely important. But also we need to be expanding in this area of using inspired research so that we’re creating those new technologies which are going to maintain us as the superpower that we are and maintain our place in the world, extremely important concepts for universities to be paying attention to.

Association with ACIN (00:26:45) - :: Well how does this all play into our association with ACIN? Drexel, this has been a great experience for Drexel and I think you’ve heard it’s been a great experience for CERDEC, and more importantly, we hope it’s been a great experience for the companies who have been involved in the ACIN program. Lou Bucelli where are they? Where did he go? Oh he’s in there. There he is. Lou Bucelli you know sometimes it’s good to go back to over a little bit of history so you will understand where does this come in your future. Where we are now and where we’re going in the future. ---- began with the ACIN program. He is the oldest member of the ACIN program on the Drexel side. And I think he can remember when we were sitting there, trying to figure out even before our time, there when he was trying to figure out. Ok, I have this great support, Congressman Anderson; he’s been a great supporter on this. We’re working with Fort Monmouth and the CERDEC.

Getting companies to come to Camden (00:27:45) - :: But how are we going to get companies to come in to CAMDEN? And we’ve looked around at various models for tech centers; they were out there at that point. We saw that most of them we’re built on real estate models. That is you bring in, you have a place where companies can come in and can get cheap service, cheaper in to get started, associated with a medical institution that may got some education on being an entrepreneur at various aspects of contracting. But how are we gonna make that work in CAMDEN. The answer, it’s surprising looking back on it now, that it was so novel and new at that particular point. But the idea was what do companies want? Do they want cheap space; do they want some educational opportunity?

Companies want revenue (00:28:35) - :: No, companies want revenue. And how do we create revenue? I’ve seen most of you would agree with that, but it’s a fairly obvious point to be able to make, but nonetheless it was sort of revolutionary back then. And we said about how do we work with CERDEC?, to be able to create an environment in which companies who have off the shelf technologies can create and therefore we’ve come into our incubator, because we were one of the few places they could create that help and create that particular revenue through the connectivity with CERDEC.

CERDEC - a good partner (00:29:21) - :: Well, I got to tell you, we couldn’t have asked for better partners than CERDEC on this. Because when we went to CERDEC with this, at that point, revolutionary proposal, they were on board with it almost immediately. And the idea that we can create that kind of activity between our businesses that were in our tech center, between the prime contractors that would come in, between Drexel and our business incubator, the people who are in our business incubator. And we could create this churn that will ultimately result in revenues for those companies. This was something that took off right away. And since that point, and this is, it’s often watched, that this was creating a new national model.

A new national model (00:30:12) - :: Drexel and CERDEC created this new national model for incubating technology companies. And today, that is a leading model for developing new technology centers. People are coming to us all the time. How do you do this, what’s involved in terms of doing this? How can we do it? And we try to help them develop their particular models with particular agencies that they’re working with.

Expansion of the model (00:30:46) - :: We’ve expanded this model that CERDEC has been our partner in this from the beginning, that now, the Department of Justice, we got a $4 million dollar, one of our companies, Drakontas which was actually spun out with technology that Bill and his team developed. The Department of Justice is now with a $4 million dollar contract. We have gone, Ed Celiano who’s our general manager, who’s always told me to turn this read around purple. We’re dealing with other agencies; the FAA tech center out in Pomona has come to us. We’re working with them at this particular point in developing these types, same types of partnerships companies that would be involved in developing technologies or help technologies with the FAA tech center would be able to use.

Success statistics (00:31:36) - :: Basically now we have 60 companies who are in the tech center at this particular moment. And these are companies that again are looking to create revenue and we are helping them trying to create that revenue. We’ve created about $150 dollars, somewhere between $150 million dollars and $200 million dollars in revenue for the companies that have been part of our incubator. This significant success story, one of the companies that have started with us was a company named Gestalt, started with 3 companies, were the first companies in the incubator. With very rapidly to over 200 people and last year they were sold to Accenture, outstanding success story.

Extended partnerships (00:32:35) - :: Smaller Agent is another company that started with us. Last year they got an $8 million dollar placement by a venture a capital group. So these are types of stories that we keep trying to create. We’ve extended our partnerships, our university partnerships. Those people who are here, Dr. [inaudible 00:32:40] from Monmouth University is here. I hope you’ll see her exhibit outside, her vehicle outside. Our friends from [inaudible 00:32:47] at St. Francis University [inaudible 00:32:52] and goes to their mobile command platform that they have developed, outside as well. And we’re working on a project involving communications between police and school officials on New Kensington school district and New Kensington police department out there. So we’re possibly growing. We think that this is a model that needs to be implemented in many more places. We’re very proud; the Drexel and CERDEC partnership has worked out so well.

Focusing on the warfighter (00:33:35) - :: And we looked at acting to new partnerships in order to make, again, got to focus in on the warfighter. This is our primary concern, these are the people we are concerned about every single day and how we can help them and help them help our country. And this is again what we focus on. but that’s the way we need to wake up in the morning thinking about these particular types of issues, and what types of technologies, what companies can we come up in turn and how can you help them create revenue to help create economic development specifically for us in the CAMDEN area. So I want to thank everybody who’s here today, hopefully you’ll have a great day. The world of ACIN is a great world even if it’s raining outside.

The sunny world of ACIN (00:34:08) - :: The world of ACIN always has sunshine in it. And we hope you’ll see the companies in the back, more importantly we hope you see the light and become one of our companies as well, and tell your friends to become our companies as well.

Introduction (00:35:06) - :: Joe: [00:35:08] our last and final speaker is the acting director for space and terrestrial division, Mr. Dave Jimenez. I have this, he’s my new boss.

A Camden story (00:35:26) - :: Dave: [00:35:26] thank you, good afternoon. I’m not gonna be able to add a lot of additional points in what the speakers have said already. But I will share a story. [Inaudible 00:35:36] from the south part, and the family decided somewhere in the late 60’s, early 70’s that go and get us out of the city in a place into the suburbs. So we landed on 7th street in CAMDEN where I grew up, and my point of view, it’s not too far from where ACIN and L3 and those facilities are today. And as a kid growing up there, the most interesting thing in town was to watch tomatoes grow up to come later in the CAMDEN soup company. And that was interesting for about 5 minutes.

Camden transformed (00:36:16) - :: But you now, never would you have imagined that CAMDEN would be transformed and incubator for high technology. And you’ve heard about the great partnerships and the success of ACIN. When we started it in CEREDEC back in 2001, you know it had a little bit of exposure to overcome and people really are trying to understand, what are we trying to accomplish here? And you hear the numbers, you hear the investment that the congressman made, and the great success that we’ve had in brining solution providers for the real world problems we’re experiencing on. And one of the biggest challenges that we have as a community overall is trying to bring those solution providers in front of the people that are having real problems.

Challenges and successes (00:36:40) - :: Over the years I’ve had visits from a lot of the companies that participate in ACIN. And they all come with an idea, they all come with a lot of energy, and hoping, you know, to take on to what’s challenging efforts. In a lot of successes that we have in overcoming, trying to figure out what’s the business model we’re pursuing to make it resemble success that we use today.

The conduits (00:37:32) - :: But look at the conduits, you know small businesses that usually have a very hard plan getting a foot in the door and getting in front of our eyes to derive something. How the mechanism, how the way to participate with Joe’s leadership, and the rest of the folks in sure it that facilitate in what happens in Drexel.

Administering the effort (00:37:53) - :: We the executive agents, we at the SNTCD run the administrating effort, help get things on contract, participate with Drexel to help things happen. And I want to highlight that the, you know, it’s a big effort internal to get even more and more people aware of what’s going on in that facility in the ACIN capability. I’ll just highlight, there’s a few of the things that the, some of the other speakers talked about. You know these aren’t just simple tasks that were taking on.

A sampling of complex tasks (00:38:25) - :: Companies involved and information assurance, software validation and verification and testing and quality assurance. Things that are providing that one in particular, great value to the efforts that we put out of CEREDEC. Mobile computing technology, wireless communication and the main network, research into simulation system and power systems. Cognitive technologies, which is gonna be one of our bell wedded technologies in the next few years in CEREDEC. So this isn’t small potatoes, this isn’t, hey let me get something awarded down there and try to make some sense of it. This is real, core business areas of what CEREDEC engage with solving problems for soldiers. You’ve heard about the 60 companies, you’ve heard about how it’s grown, you heard about how startups are gonna leg up, and how they can interact with government. And with Drexel’s help, those incubators are up and running. But you know the last thing I can leave you with, and the parting thought here is that ACIN works.

ACIN works (00:39:30) - :: ACIN works, it’s continuing to work and it’s gonna, you know, we’re gonna make this a, it is a core of our business model in CEREDEC. So with that, I’m not gonna keep you from seeing exhibitors. Please, that you plot your problems in front of them, make sure that you walk away at least with a relationship and understanding that there’s somebody out there who could help with things that we are counting from day to day. Question (00:41:14) - :: Joe: [00:41:20] yes, actually last year we have probably 8 of our company [inaudible 00:41:24]. So yeah, big time, big time. And I think the army and CECOM or CEREDEC itself does about 70 to 80 a year. I think we’re number one in the army for that. So we do utilize our lab, we do a lot of support of the civil program throughout the New Jersey area, yes. Any other questions, I see invested exhibitors, a lot of them companies out there.
